Its name is inspired by the Carthusian monks who, between 1598 and 2019, practiced a solitary life of prayer at the Cartuxa Monastery, in Évora, owned by the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation. As a way of reviving one of the traditional ways of producing wines at Adega Cartuxa, where quality wines have been produced for more than two centuries, the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation presents this white wine produced with complete tanning, from the Arinto, Roupeiro, Fernão Pires, Trincadeira das Pratas and Malvasia Rei. It reveals a complex aroma, with many notes of dry vegetable, orange and ripe citrus. Great harmony in the mouth, in a full and deep register, but with perfect acid balance. A very elegant, vibrant and long wine.
